Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra: French Fantastique at the Garde Arts Center

The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra presents French Fantastique, an evening celebrating French musical brilliance with works by Maurice Ravel and Hector Berlioz. The program includes Ravel’s Boléro and his jazz- and Basque-influenced Piano Concerto in G Major, performed by acclaimed pianist Mark Markham, longtime recital partner of legendary soprano Jessye Norman. The evening concludes with Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, a five-movement masterpiece depicting an artist’s passionate and hallucinatory descent into obsession and madness.
This performance marks World Pianist Day on November 8 and the 150th anniversary of Ravel’s birth. Audiences can expect an immersive musical experience highlighting the ECSO’s artistry and dynamic programming.
The concert will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 7:30 pm at the Garde Arts Center, 325 State Street, New London, Connecticut.
