Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the architectural brilliance of the Yale Center for British Art during a docent-led tour focused on the museum’s renowned building, designed by modernist architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974). This in-depth experience offers visitors the opportunity to explore the design and structure of one of Kahn’s most celebrated works, noted for its masterful use of natural light and refined materials.

The tour will be held on Sunday, July 6, from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm and begins in the Entrance Court near the Visitor Services desk. Led by the museum’s knowledgeable and engaging volunteer docents, this tour highlights the unique features of the building while inviting thoughtful conversation about its place in modern architecture.
