Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the architectural brilliance of Louis I. Kahn during a docent-led tour of the Yale Center for British Art on Sunday, June 29, at 3:00 pm. This 45-minute tour offers an in-depth look at the museum’s iconic modernist building, designed by the renowned architect and completed in 1977.
Led by the museum’s trained volunteer educators, the tour explores the thoughtful design elements, materials, and spatial innovations that define the structure, while also highlighting how the building complements the collection it houses. Tours begin in the Entrance Court near the Visitor Services desk and invite participants to engage in dialogue about architecture and design.
The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free. For more information, visit britishart.yale.edu.
