Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

The tour explores the building’s design by renowned modernist architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974), offering insight into the vision and structure behind this celebrated cultural space.

Led by the museum’s trained volunteer educators, the 45-minute tour highlights architectural features, design elements, and the building’s significance within Kahn’s body of work. Tours begin in the Entrance Court near the Visitor Services desk and provide an engaging look at how the space interacts with the museum’s collection and visitors.
