Docent Tour | The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

This architecture-focused tour offers an inside look at the celebrated design of the Yale Center for British Art, the final building conceived by noted modernist architect Louis I. Kahn. Guests can learn about the innovative materials, natural lighting strategies, and spatial philosophy that make the museum a landmark of modern architecture. The tour is led by the museum’s volunteer educators, who share their perspectives on how the building’s design shapes the experience of viewing art. Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and run approximately 45 minutes.
The tour takes place on December 28, 2025, from 3:00 to 3:45 pm at the Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free, and no registration is required.
