Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the brilliance of modern design during the Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at the Yale Center for British Art on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 3 pm to 3:45 pm.
Led by the museum’s volunteer educators, this in-depth tour explores the architectural legacy of the museum’s iconic building, designed by modernist master Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974). Participants will learn about Kahn’s innovative use of light, space, and materials, as well as how his design complements and enhances the museum’s world-renowned collection.
The tour also highlights the perspectives of the museum’s dedicated docents, who serve as ambassadors for both the art and architecture of this remarkable institution.
Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk. The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free and open to the public.
