Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the brilliance of modern design during the Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at the Yale Center for British Art. On Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 3 pm to 3:45 pm, visitors are invited to explore the museum’s iconic building, a masterpiece of modern architecture designed by Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974).

Led by the museum’s knowledgeable volunteer educators, this tour offers an in-depth look at Kahn’s visionary approach to light, space, and structure. Participants will gain insight into the building’s innovative design, its harmonious relationship with the art it houses, and its place as one of New Haven’s architectural landmarks.

Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk. The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free and open to the public.
