Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the architectural brilliance of one of New Haven’s most celebrated landmarks during The Architecture of the YCBA docent-led tour on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 3 pm to 3:45 pm at the Yale Center for British Art.
This in-depth tour offers visitors the opportunity to explore the museum’s iconic building, designed by renowned modernist architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974). Led by volunteer museum educators, the experience highlights Kahn’s masterful use of natural light, space, and materials, as well as the building’s relationship to the art it houses.
Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and last approximately 45 minutes. Space is limited and available on a first-come basis.
The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free and open to the public.
