Docent Tour | The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the remarkable design of the Yale Center for British Art during a docent-led architecture tour on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 3 to 3:45 pm. Led by volunteer museum educators, this in-depth tour explores the museum’s iconic modernist building, designed by the renowned architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974).

Guests will learn about the building’s innovative design elements, Kahn’s architectural vision, and how the structure enhances the viewing experience of the museum’s world-class collection. Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and last approximately 45 minutes, offering insight into the creativity and purpose behind one of New Haven’s most significant architectural landmarks.
