Docent Tour: The Architecture of the YCBA at Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art offers a docent-led tour exploring the architecture of its iconic building, designed by modernist architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974). This in-depth tour highlights Kahn’s innovative design and the building’s significance as a landmark in modern architecture.
Tours are led by volunteer museum educators, who share unique insights into the design and history of the structure while encouraging dialogue and exploration. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and begins in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk.
The tour will take place on October 12, 2025, from 3:00 to 3:45 pm at the Yale Center for British Art, 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut.
