Docent Tour: J. M. W. Turner – Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art

Explore the artistic brilliance of J. M. W. Turner during a docent-led tour of J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at the Yale Center for British Art. This special exhibition, on view Saturday, May 17 at 3:00 pm, showcases the museum’s unmatched Turner holdings—the most extensive outside the United Kingdom.

Guests will experience a curated selection of Turner’s iconic oil paintings, watercolors, and prints, gaining insight into how his innovative use of light, color, and atmosphere reshaped the landscape genre. Through this guided tour, visitors will better understand the artistic legacy and contemporary relevance of one of Britain’s most influential painters.
