Docent Tour: J. M. W. Turner – Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the brilliance of J. M. W. Turner during a docent-led tour of J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven. This special exhibition highlights the museum’s renowned Turner holdings—one of the most extensive outside the UK—including iconic oil paintings, watercolors, and prints.

Guests can explore how Turner’s bold use of light, color, and atmosphere redefined landscape painting and continues to inspire artists today. Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and are led by the Center’s dedicated volunteer museum educators, who bring unique perspectives and insights into Turner’s groundbreaking work and the architectural masterpiece designed by Louis I. Kahn.

The tour takes place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 2:45 pm. Admission is included with museum entry.
