Docent Tour | J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the brilliance of J. M. W. Turner in Romance and Reality with a docent-led tour at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 3:00 to 3:45 pm.

This special exhibition highlights the museum’s unparalleled collection of Turner’s work—the most extensive outside the UK—including iconic oil paintings, watercolors, and prints. Visitors will gain insight into how Turner’s bold use of light, color, and atmosphere redefined landscape painting and continues to inspire artists today.

Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and are guided by the museum’s vibrant community of volunteer educators, who share unique perspectives and invite dialogue throughout the experience. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.
