Docent Tour: J. M. W. Turner – Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art

The Yale Center for British Art in New Haven will offer a docent-led tour of J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality on Thursday, July 3, from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm. This special exhibition highlights the museum’s exceptional collection of Turner’s work—the largest outside the United Kingdom—featuring a range of oil paintings, watercolors, and prints.

Participants will explore Turner’s revolutionary use of light, color, and atmosphere and learn how his bold approach redefined the landscape genre and continues to influence artists today. The 45-minute tour is guided by the museum’s knowledgeable volunteer educators and offers insight into one of Britain’s most celebrated artists.
