Docent Tour | J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at Yale Center for British Art

Discover the power and poetry of J. M. W. Turner’s art during a docent-led tour of J. M. W. Turner: Romance and Reality at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven. This special exhibition highlights the museum’s unparalleled Turner holdings—considered the most extensive outside the United Kingdom—including iconic oil paintings, watercolors, and prints.

Guests will explore how Turner’s innovative use of light, color, and atmosphere reshaped landscape painting and continues to influence artists today. The tour is approximately 45 minutes long and offers a unique perspective from the museum’s knowledgeable volunteer docents.

The tour begins at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025, and meets in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk. Admission is free and open to the public.
