Docent Tour | Hew Locke at Yale Center for British Art

This docent-led tour explores the work of Hew Locke, offering insight into the artist’s powerful visual commentary on identity, migration, and the lasting impact of history. The tour examines three decades of Locke’s work in sculpture, photography, and found materials, highlighting how he questions and unravels symbols of empire while reimagining the iconography and legacies of colonialism.

The tour takes place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at the Yale Center for British Art, located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06510. Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk and are led by volunteer museum educators who bring their unique perspectives to both the artwork and the Louis I.
