Docent Tour | Hew Locke at Yale Center for British Art

A focused exploration of contemporary artist Hew Locke’s work is offered through this docent-led tour at the Yale Center for British Art. The tour highlights three decades of Locke’s practice, featuring sculpture, photography, and found materials that examine themes of identity, migration, power, and the lasting impact of history. Through visual storytelling and layered symbolism, Locke challenges and reimagines the iconography and legacies of empire.

The tour takes place on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm and meets in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk. Led by volunteer museum educators, the experience encourages thoughtful dialogue and reflection while offering unique perspectives on both the artwork and the Louis I. Kahn–designed building that houses the collection. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.
