Docent Tour: Hew Locke at Yale Center for British Art

Gain new insight into the thought-provoking art of Hew Locke during the Docent Tour: Hew Locke at the Yale Center for British Art on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1 pm to 1:45 pm.
Led by volunteer museum educators, this tour explores Locke’s powerful visual commentary on themes of identity, migration, and the lasting impact of colonial history. Spanning more than three decades of work, the exhibition features sculpture, photography, and mixed-media installations that repurpose found materials to question and reinterpret symbols of empire.
Visitors will discover how Locke reimagines the iconography of power and examines the legacies of colonialism through richly layered and evocative works.
Tours meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk. The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free and open to the public.
