Docent Tour | Hew Locke at the Yale Center for British Art

Experience the striking work of contemporary artist Hew Locke during a docent-led tour at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 to 1:45 pm.

This engaging tour explores Locke’s thought-provoking visual commentary on identity, migration, and the lasting effects of colonialism. Through sculpture, photography, and found materials, Locke reimagines and critiques the symbols of empire, revealing how history continues to shape our world today.

The tour is led by the museum’s volunteer educators and offers a closer look at three decades of Locke’s artistic practice. Participants will meet in the Entrance Court by the Visitor Services desk before the tour begins.

The Yale Center for British Art is located at 1080 Chapel Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Admission is free and open to the public.
