Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day at Florence Griswold Museum

Connecticut’s Historic Gardens Day returns on Sunday, June 22, with a statewide celebration of the state’s rich garden heritage. At the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, visitors can enjoy a special afternoon from 12 pm featuring members of the museum’s Garden Gang, who will be available to answer questions and provide informal garden tours.
The annual event highlights the beauty and history of Connecticut’s historic landscapes, with participating sites offering special programming, open garden spaces, and insights into their horticultural traditions. While each location celebrates in its own way, all share a dedication to preserving Connecticut’s unique garden history.
For those unable to attend on this date, most historic gardens across the state remain open year-round and are free to visit, offering opportunities to explore at your own pace throughout the seasons.
The Florence Griswold Museum is located at 96 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut. To plan your full day of garden visits, including other participating locations, visit cthistoricgardens.org.
