Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival at Fort Trumbull New London

The 2019 Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival will be held on September 12th from 2:30 pm to 6 pm, September 13th from 10 am to 10 pm, September 14th from 10 am to 10 pm, and September 15th from 12 pm to 4 pm at Fort Trumbull State Park in New London.

The Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival is a five day annual celebration promoting the State of Connecticut’s maritime heritage and spirit of innovation in conjunction with Connecticut Maritime Heritage Week.

The Festival will attract more than 60,000 visitors this year to the historic Port of New London waterfront including individuals and families who experience unique tours aboard a fleet of boats including U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard ships, merchant marine vessels, and historic schooners.

Festival events include a U.S. Coast Guard search & rescue demonstration, a Music on the Pier main stage Americana concert, a “Swingin’ on the Pier” dance party, a “Meet the Crew” party, a parade of ships, The Morgan Cup Yacht Race, a Maritime Career Opportunity Expo, a burning of Benedict Arnold by costumed reenactors, and the 6th annual “Chowder Challenge.”

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Family Fun Zone
Monster Mural, Children’s Book Signing, Games, Face Painting, Balloon Figures and Historical Reenactors on City Pier

11 a.m. – 3 p.m. “Great New London Chowder Challenge”
