Cocktails and the Collector at Ridgefield Guild of Artists

An evening celebrating modern art, history, and collecting will take place on June 25, 2026 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, 34 Halpin Lane, Ridgefield, CT 06877.

Presented in collaboration with the Ridgefield Historical Society, Cocktails and the Collector combines an art show, social gathering, and auction of original 20th-century works as part of the Guild’s monthlong Mad for Modern exhibit running June 6–28.

Guests can enjoy cocktails, light bites, and contemporary artwork on display throughout the gallery while bidding on vintage pieces donated from the Segelstein family’s private collection. Auction highlights include signed lithographs by Salvador Dalí and Peter Max, along with original etchings by Etienne Ret and artwork by Ludwig Bemelmans, creator of the beloved Madeline books.

The event also launches the Historical Society’s new “Mad for Modern” programming series exploring Ridgefield’s modern and postmodern architecture, design, and cultural history.

Tickets are $60 in advance or $75 at the door if available. Space is limited. Auction items will be on display throughout the exhibit, and online bidding opens June 1 for those unable to attend in person.
