Christmas With The Celts at Ridgefield Playhouse

Christmas With The Celts returns to Ridgefield Playhouse for two festive performances as part of the Addessi Jewelers Holiday Series and the Aquarion Global Voices Series. This family favorite holiday show blends timeless Irish Christmas carols, lively Irish dance, and contemporary songs performed with traditional Irish instrumentation.

Originally seen as a PBS-TV special, the production has since grown into a beloved holiday tradition, combining modern Christmas standards with the spirit and sounds of Celtic roots. Audiences can expect to hear favorites such as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” and John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas,” alongside traditional Irish tunes.

Each year, the Celts bring fresh arrangements, original songs, and new dance numbers to the stage, ensuring that no two performances are the same. The lineup features Emerald Rae on vocals and fiddle, Patrick D’Arcy (U2, Sting, Josh Groban) on Uilleann pipes, Ric Blair on vocals, guitar, bodhran, and Irish whistles, plus bass, drums, and spirited Irish dancers.
