Canvas for a Cause Art Silent Auction at The Miller Barn

An afternoon of art and community fundraising takes place on May 17, 2026 from 3 pm to 5 pm at The Miller Barn, 50 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470.

Canvas for a Cause Art Silent Auction features a collection of artwork available for bidding, with proceeds supporting the Newtown High School College Application Prep (CAP) Club’s Behind the Scenes Scholarship. The scholarship awards $1,000 to a graduating Newtown High School student who has demonstrated meaningful contributions to their community or family outside of school.

The event highlights the creativity of local artists while supporting a student-led initiative that recognizes often-overlooked efforts beyond academics. Funds raised through the auction help continue the scholarship program and encourage community involvement.

Guests can browse and bid on artwork in a relaxed setting while contributing to a meaningful cause.
