Booked and Framed Book Club: The Goldfinch at Mattatuck Museum
October 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Book lovers can explore the connections between literature, art, and identity during the Mattatuck Museum’s Booked and Framed Book Club on Sunday, October 18, from 1 to 2 pm. The discussion centers on The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, a novel following thirteen-year-old Theo Decker after a tragic accident changes the course of his life.
As Theo grows into adulthood, a small painting becomes both a source of comfort and a burden, drawing him into worlds of art, love, wealth, and crime. The story raises questions about identity, loss, and destiny, offering plenty of themes for group discussion.
Tickets are $5. The program is sponsored by Christine Mancuso Shugrue and takes place at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Connecticut.
