Birdie Bash 2019 at the Middletown Elks Club

November 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Parrot Club’s biggest annual event, Birdie Bash 2019, features an exciting line-up of activities for wild and exotic bird enthusiasts from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, at the Elks Club in Middletown, Connecticut. A “Fascinating Falcons” live bird show, presented by Killingworth, Connecticut-based A Place Called Hope, is the highlight of the day’s festivities, which are open to the public.

Bird lovers of all ages will thrill to see falcons up close and will learn how these sharp-eyed raptors are more closely related to parrots than to eagles. Volunteers from A Place Called Hope will also share stories of their bird rescue efforts and insights about ways to protect these magnificent wild birds during an 11:30 a.m. presentation. At 1:30 p.m., bird owners can learn how to enrich their pets’ playtime during a presentation by Creative Bird Toys.

Members of Connecticut’s most enduring organization for companion bird owners will also display their exotic birds during this 18th annual event, which also features a marketplace: the ideal place to shop for birds and bird owners on your holiday list. Birdie Bash 2019 also features exhibits and opportunities for both experienced and prospective bird owners to learn about adopting and caring for parrots and other pet birds. Refreshments and fundraiser tickets will be sold. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 12; non-members may not bring birds to the event.

The Elks Club is located at 44 Maynard Street in Middletown, Connecticut. Parking is free. For more information about Birdie Bash 2019, visit theparrotclub.org
