Benjamin Gibbard at Ridgefield Playhouse

Benjamin Gibbard, the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and guitarist, will perform live at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 8:00 pm.

Best known as the frontman for Death Cab for Cutie, Gibbard has been a driving force in the indie rock scene since the band’s formation in 1997. With ten studio albums to their name, including the acclaimed Asphalt Meadows (2022), Death Cab for Cutie has cemented its place in modern music history under Gibbard’s creative direction. He is also one half of the celebrated electronic duo The Postal Service, whose platinum album Give Up remains one of Sub Pop Records’ most iconic releases.

In addition to his work with bands, Gibbard has an impressive solo catalog. His debut album Former Lives (2012) showcased his signature introspection and melodic style. He also teamed up with Jay Farrar for One Fast Move or I’m Gone (2009), a companion to the Jack Kerouac documentary of the same name. His work extends into film scoring, including projects like Laggies (2014) and the Kurt Cobain documentary About a Son (2006), co-created with Steve Fisk.
