Artist Talk: Richard Long at Yale Center for British Art

Acclaimed British land artist Richard Long will discuss his artistic practice and new installation, Gravity, during a free artist talk at the Yale Center for British Art on Wednesday, November 4, from 5 to 6 pm in the Lecture Hall. Long will be joined in conversation by James Meyer, curator of modern art at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.

The discussion will explore Gravity, a site-specific work conceived for the YCBA’s Entrance Court, along with Long’s career and broader approach to art. Known for his work as a land artist, Long has developed a practice that examines the relationship between art, place, and the natural environment. The conversation offers an opportunity to learn more about the ideas and process behind his installation and artistic work.
