Art in Focus at the Museum at Fairfield University Art Museum

A closer look at individual works of art takes place during Art in Focus at the Museum, a series of informal gallery conversations held on April 9 and May 7, 2026 at 12 pm at the Fairfield University Art Museum, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
Led by Curator of Education and Academic Engagement Michelle DiMarzo, each session highlights a single artwork from the exhibition For Which It Stands…, offering an opportunity for thoughtful discussion in a relaxed and engaging setting. Participants are encouraged to explore the themes, techniques, and context behind each featured piece while connecting with others through shared observation and dialogue.
The April 9 session will focus on Julie Mehretu’s Corner of Lake and Minnehaha (2022), a dynamic screenprint that reflects layered histories and visual complexity. The May 7 session will highlight Rosson Crow’s Fragility (Pax Americana) (2023), a mixed-media work that examines themes of national identity and cultural symbolism.
Please note that the April 9 program will take place in the Walsh Gallery, and the May 7 session will also be held in the Walsh Gallery.
