Art Encounters: The American Dream at The Benton Museum of Art

The Benton Museum of Art will present Art Encounters: The American Dream on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. This interactive two-part workshop invites participants to reflect on the origins and evolution of the American Dream through art and hands-on creativity.

Led by Benton educators, the program begins in the gallery with close looking at works from the exhibition Encounters with the Collection: Exploring America at 250, including Robert Indiana’s Demuth American Dream. The discussion will focus on the cultural context and shifting meaning of the American Dream. Following the gallery session, participants will move to the education center to design their own postage stamp inspired by the theme, using a variety of art supplies.
