2018 is the 40th Anniversary of the Annual South County Hot Air Balloon Festival. The festival is presented by the Wakefield Rotary Club, and proceeds from this event benefit several charities.
The Annual South County Balloon Festival will be held July 20-22 at the URI Athletic Fields in Kingston, RI. Kingston is about an hour 1/2 drive from Hartford.
The South County Balloon Festival features Tethered Hot Air Balloon rides* in morning and evening, family entertainment, crafters, carnival rides, car show, food vendors, live music (Friday Night), fireworks (Saturday), Balloon Glow* (Fri, Sat), fishing pond, bounce houses, and lots of other family fun. Entry is payable at the gate. Balloon rides and carnival rides have additional fee.
General admission to the festival is $10 and children 10 and under are free all weekend. Parking is free and plentiful.
*All balloon activities are weather dependent. Balloons ascend in morning and evening only.
