Annual Riverton Fair at the Riverton Fairgrounds

Step into a world of old-fashioned charm at the Riverton Fair, nestled along the scenic Farmington River.

This beloved country fair offers a weekend full of traditional fun with exhibits, animals, local vendors, delicious food, midway rides, live music, and exciting events like wood-chopping competitions.

Fair Schedule:

Day 1 – Friday, October 11
4:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Fair opens with amusements and rides (ride bracelets available from 4 PM to 9 PM).
6:00 PM: Garden Tractor Pull begins.

Day 2 – Saturday, October 12
8:00 AM – 8:00 PM: Full day of activities, including the Lumberjack Competition at 9:00 AM, exhibit judging at 10:30 AM, and the ever-popular Oxen Drawing at 1:00 PM.
Noon – 8:00 PM: Amusements and rides open (ride bracelets available from 12 PM to 8 PM).
3:00 PM: Pie Eating Contest for both youth and adults.
6:30 PM: Riverton Fair Women’s Skillet Throw.

Day 3 – Sunday, October 13
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM: Final day kicks off with the Lumberjack Competition at 9:00 AM and the Junior Dairy show at 11:00 AM.
Noon – 5:00 PM: Amusements and rides open (ride bracelets available from 12 PM to 5 PM).
1:00 PM: Oxen Drawing and live music by Country Steel on the Bandstand.
Approx. 2:00 PM: Litchfield County Women’s Skillet Throw Finals.
4:00 PM: Bicycle & Hitchcock Drawing on the Bandstand.
5:00 PM: Fair closes for 2024.
