Annual New Haven Chalk Art Festival

The New Haven Chalk Art Festival will be held on Saturday, October 20th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm (rain date: Sunday, October 21)
View elaborate and amazing chalk art designs by talented artists, including a special piece by local chalk artist Andrea Casey, as they compete for bragging rights and gift cards to The Shops at Yale: $1,000 to Hulls Art Supply & Framing Gift Card, $500 to L.L.Bean, $250 to Patagonia New Haven, $100 to J.Crew and more!
Enjoy a day of art and entertainment in celebration of the local community in the heart of downtown New Haven and Yale University. The Shops at Yale invites all professional and amateur artists, students, and artist groups to participate in the 3rd Annual New Haven Chalk Art Festival. The Shops at Yale will provide offers to retailers and restaurants, raffles, giveaways and more! This event is free & open to the public, with free parking.
Chalk Artists will be creating their masterpieces in 2 locations – Broadway Island, 56 Broadway across from Apple, J.Crew & Urban Outfitters, and in front of the Yale University Art Gallery, 1111 Chapel Street, only one block away.
The New Haven Chalk Art Festival will provide a fun-filled day with live music, entertainment and activities for the whole family including a Magician, Face Painting, The Neighborhood Music School Premier Jazz Ensemble on Broadway Island, a musician from Yale School of Music in front of the Yale University Art Gallery, andKids Freestyle Zone with free chalk for the first 100 participants.

- The Neighborhood Music School Premier Jazz Ensemble | Broadway Island (56 Broadway)
- A violin soloist from Yale School of Music | Yale University Art Gallery (1111 Chapel Street)
- Registration and Chalk Art: 56 Broadway (across from Apple, J.Crew & Urban Outfitters)
- Chalk Art: 1111 Chapel Street (in front of the Yale University Art Gallery)
- Kids Freestyle Zone: will be held in the Apple Courtyard behind 65 Broadway and will provide a FREE box of chalk for the first 100 participants
Artist Registration Information: To secure a space (spaces limited, first come first served) and to be eligible for the Grand Prize, participants must submit a registration form by end of day October 18, 2018

Parking Information: The Shops at Yale will offer FREE parking at the 150 York Street Garage for both participants and spectators. Bring your ticket to The Shops at Yale tent on Broadway Island for a validation stamp.
