The Annual Durham Fair September 27 – 30

The annual Durham Fair will be held September 27 – 30. The Durham Fair is Connecticut’s largest agricultural fair. View the 2018 CT state fair schedule of entertainment and attractions. Ongoing exhibits and demonstrations of early farm life, continuous blacksmith demonstrations. In addition, 3 times daily, pulley-driven antique farm equipment demonstrations, including corn grinders, farm auger (a grain auger is a long tube used to raise and transport grain from the ground to the top of grain bins, load trucks from the grain bin or carry feed from a wagon to cattle feeders on a farm) hay press, lime crusher, corn chopper, wood saw, shingle mill and lunger engine.

Various demonstrations, including corn husk doll making, scavenger hunts, special presentation by shoreline robotics team, and making fairy gardens, courtesy of Natureworks. Musicians and entertainment acts, any day at any time! Acts include Brown Paper Sax and more. Ongoing activities include corn crib, bubbles, photo opportunities. Spinning and weaving demonstrations, along with touch fibers and an educational area for kids. Sewing demonstrations daily, corner stage.
