Annual Cars for Kids Automobile Show

The Valley Collector Car Club and the Litchfield Hills Historical Automobile Club will hold their Annual Cars for Kids Automobile Show on October 21st.
The car show is family oriented and children will enjoy farm tours, hay rides, face and pumpkin painting activities along with a scavenger hunt. Visitors may purchase eggs, chrysanthemums, and produce, including, pumpkins, gourds and squash grown by students in CJR’s roadside Farm Market. Products from CJR’s vocational classes, including culinary and graphic arts, woodshop, and fine and creative arts, will also be featured.
Gates and registration for exhibitors will open at 8 a.m. Show entries are $10 per car. Dashboard plaques will be given to the first 100 entrants and exhibitor gift bags will be given to the first 200 registrants. Judging will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and trophies will be awarded at 2:30 p.m. Spectator parking will open at 10 a.m. on the CJR campus. Admission is $5 per car.
A luncheon prepared and served by CJR students will be available in the D’Assern Dining Room. The Hot Rod Special features a pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw. The Cruiser Special features a chicken sandwich, lettuce and tomato. Both specials include pasta salad, iced tea and cookies. Hamburgers, hot dogs, baked goods, popcorn, ice cream sandwiches and hot and cold beverages will also be sold.
