An evening of genre-defying music and orchestral collaboration comes to the Palace Theater on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 8 pm to 10 pm at 100 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06702.

Grammy-nominated violinist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird joins the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra for a special performance celebrating the 20th anniversary of his acclaimed album The Mysterious Production of Eggs. Known for his distinctive sound that blends elements of jazz, folk, and pop, Bird will present the album in its entirety with full orchestral arrangements, followed by a selection of fan-favorite songs from his nearly three-decade career.

Since beginning his recording career in 1997, Bird has released 18 albums and performed on stages around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. In addition to his music career, he has appeared as a TED Talks presenter, contributed writing to The New York Times, and performed in film and television, including FX’s Fargo and Disney’s The Muppets.

This performance offers a rare opportunity to experience Bird’s intricate compositions and virtuosic musicianship enhanced by the full sound of a live symphony orchestra.
