American Enginuity at Garde Arts Center

Innovation and American achievement are celebrated in this Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra concert highlighting music inspired by ingenuity and progress. The program centers on Anthony DiLorenzo’s trumpet concerto American Enginuity, featuring ECSO Principal Trumpet Phil Snedecor in a work that pays tribute to milestones such as the transcontinental railroad, early aviation, the Model T, and the Apollo 11 moon landing. Additional selections include Elmer Bernstein’s iconic theme from The Magnificent Seven, Kenneth Fuchs’s American Rhapsody showcasing ECSO Concertmaster Stephen Tieszen, Antonín Dvořák’s American Suite, and Carmen Dragon’s arrangement of the folk song “Shenandoah,” offering a broad portrait of the American musical landscape.
