Aida Rodriguez at Hartford Funny Bone Comedy Club

Comedian, actor, and writer Aida Rodriguez takes the stage with her fearless, sharply funny stand-up. Praised by Esquire as “raucously funny,” Rodriguez blends biting social commentary with deeply personal storytelling, drawing on her own extraordinary life journey — including surviving two kidnappings, overcoming periods of homelessness, and breaking barriers as a Latina in comedy.

Her first hour-long stand-up special, Fighting Words, premiered on HBO Max in 2021, where she tackled cancel culture and pressing social issues with bold honesty. Rodriguez is also developing a comedy series with HBO Max based on her life. Her work has earned critical acclaim, with Decider calling her comedy “laughing, crying and begging for more” and Esquire declaring her genius lies in “turning pain into progress.”

In addition to her stand-up success, Rodriguez has appeared on Netflix’s They Ready, Showtime’s Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All Star Comedy Jam, HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay, and Comedy Central’s This Week at the Comedy Cellar. She has also acted in films like The Comedian alongside Robert De Niro and hosts her own popular podcast, Truth Serum.

Performances are scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, with doors opening at 5:30 pm for the 6:30 pm show, and at 8:30 pm for the 9 pm show at Hartford Funny Bone Comedy Club, 194 Buckland Hills Drive, Manchester, Connecticut. Tickets are available through the club’s website.
