A gripping tale of murder, deception, and deduction comes to Westport Country Playhouse with Agatha Christie’s The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, adapted for the stage by Mark Shanahan from Christie’s celebrated novel. Running from July 14 through August 1, 2026, this suspenseful production closes the Playhouse’s 2025–2026 season with one of the most acclaimed mysteries ever written.
When a shocking murder occurs in a quiet English village, the brilliant detective Hercule Poirot is called upon to unravel a web of secrets, lies, and hidden motives. Widely regarded as one of the greatest mystery novels of all time, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd remains a landmark of the whodunit genre, famous for its ingenious plot and unforgettable twist ending.
This new stage adaptation captures all the intrigue, charm, and suspense that have made Agatha Christie’s work beloved by audiences for generations.
