Aesthetic Illusions: An Afternoon of Poetry and Literary Prose by Randall Horton at Garde Arts Center

An afternoon of poetry, music, and conversation will take place on June 18, 2026 at 4 pm at the Garde Arts Center, 325 State Street, New London, CT 06320.

The program features Randall Horton, Ph.D., Professor of English at the University of New Haven, presenting readings from his acclaimed work Definition of Place. Horton’s writing explores themes of identity, belonging, community, and the meaning of place through deeply personal and socially reflective storytelling.

Following the reading, Radical Reversal will perform selections from their release Aesthetic Illusions, blending jazz, spoken word, and experimental performance into an immersive artistic experience.

The afternoon concludes with a question-and-answer session, offering audience members the opportunity to engage directly with Horton and the performers about the creative process, literature, music, and the connections between artistic disciplines.

Combining poetry, live music, and discussion, the event highlights the power of artistic expression to explore both personal and shared human experiences.
