While gingerbread has been around for thousands of years, the “house” concept became popular following the Brothers’ Grimm tale of Hansel and Gretel.  And, somewhere along the line, the wicked witches’ frosting and candy-covered gingerbread house morphed into a more festive role.

Take a break from decking the halls and enjoy an evening in Mystic Aquarium’s Main Gallery where you can decorate your own gingerbread house!
