Access for All Community Day: Chalk Art Festival at New Britain Museum of American Art

The New Britain Museum of American Art invites the community to experience the first-ever Chalk Art Festival during Access for All Community Day on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Guests can enjoy free admission to the Museum all day, thanks to generous support from the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
Artists and families are encouraged to participate in the festival, which will transform sections of Walnut Hill Park Road into vibrant works of chalk art. Assigned sections are available through paid reservations, while a designated community zone with free chalk offers everyone the chance to join in the creative fun.
Visitors can also enjoy live music throughout the day, with performances by Simone Dube from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Kat Lacombe from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, and Home by Ten from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Check-in and setup for artists begins at 9:30 am.
Access for All Community Days will continue monthly, providing free admission on August 16, September 20, October 18, November 15, and December 6. The Chalk Art Festival will be held rain or shine, and admission will remain free regardless of the weather.
