A Colonial Connecticut Thanksgiving at Huntington Homestead Museum

November 9, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

A Colonial Connecticut Thanksgiving at Huntington Homestead Museum

A Colonial Connecticut Thanksgiving at Huntington Homestead Museum will be held on November 9th.

Governor Samuel Huntington’s 1786 Thanksgiving Proclamation states that the day be observed with praise, prayer, and “the voice of melody”. Come back to the Third Society of Windham where “no servile labor may be performed this day”. Traditional food dishes will be discussed as “the family” partakes of their period meal including pompon pie. A needy neighbor may come calling for Indian meal; a weary traveler may need victuals. Harness your coursers!

Event sponsored by the Windham Region Chamber of Commerce. $7 per person, members and children 12 and under free.
