2025 UConn Spring Puppet Slam at Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre

The 2025 UConn Spring Puppet Slam returns on Friday, April 11 at 8:00 pm, offering an evening of inventive and boundary-pushing short puppet performances. The event will feature new works by professional puppeteers as well as UConn Puppet Arts Program students.
Brooklyn-based performer Tau Bennett presents Herbert’s Lament, a humorous exploration of hardship and narcolepsy, while shadow puppeteer Charlotte Lily Gaspard brings her imaginative storytelling to life with A Mermaid’s Life Story and Strange Bird, the latter performed with an umbrella screen. Mansfield’s Waldron’s Studio 88 will serve as the house band for the evening.
The Puppet Slam is recommended for mature audiences and is free to attend, with donations encouraged. Doors open at 7:30 pm and seating is first-come, first-served.
