2025 Breezeline Winter Cinema Series: The Seed of the Sacred Fig at Garde Arts Center

The 2025 Breezeline Winter Cinema Series presents The Seed of the Sacred Fig, a gripping political thriller and winner of the Special Jury Award at Cannes. The film follows Iman, an investigating judge in Tehran, whose paranoia grows after his gun disappears. Suspecting his wife and daughters, he enforces strict measures that test family bonds against a backdrop of political unrest.
The film has received widespread critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and a spot on the Oscar shortlist for Best International Feature Film.
Directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, The Seed of the Sacred Fig stars Mahsa Rostami, Setareh Maleki, and Niousha Akhshi.
