The 2019 Walktober – Ye Antient Burying Grounds of Norwich will be held on October 5th from 10:30 am to 12 pm at Elm Ave in Norwich.
Join local expert, Dave Oat, on a walk through the old Colonial burial grounds in Norwichtown. Here you will see a variety of hand cut colonial tombstones and discover what they can tell us about early life in Colonial Norwich. Dave will explain the history behind the various styles of headstone carvings while telling stories of important colonial era figures buried here. Please meet on the corner of Elm Ave on the Norwichtown Green.
This walk is 1 mile and easy. Restroom is available at the Norwich Heritage and Regional Visitors Center. No dogs please.
