Imports Dragon and DHX Media announce the launch of its newest item from the popular Caillou line, the Caillou Talking Doll. The highly anticipated doll was showcased to toy insiders for the first time at the 2014 American International Toy Fair in New York. The Caillou Talking Doll is the first licensed product that will hit shelves as the Caillou brand leads into its 25th anniversary and celebrates 15 years on the air on PBS in 2015. The new Caillou Talking Doll will hit stores across North America this month with an average cover of $34.99.
Caillou is a popular TV series on PBS aimed at kids aged 2-5. Caillou represents a 4 year old’s perspective on the world around him. Based on a best-selling series of books, first published in 1990, Caillou is a unique preschool show that presents family and friend life-like situations & settings. The stories are age appropriate and help children grow with self-esteem, confidence and independence.
The Caillou Talking Doll comes with bright new school gear including a removable backpack and hat. The Caillou doll is geared for children ages 3 and older. Press Caillou’s tummy and he speaks from the removable speaker hidden beneath his colorful blue vest. Batteries are included but when they need to be replaced, just remove the speaker unit and unscrew the back. The vest is easy for children to remove using the Velcro closures. Caillou’s shorts have elastic around the waistband and the backpack has a snap closure. The Caillou Talking doll measures 12″ tall and speaks in English.
Press his tummy and hear Caillou say “My name is Caillou” and other phrases. Children will be thrilled to hear Caillou talk to him as he share his favorite seasons, colors, friend’s names and two quick and easy French words to learn and say, for a total of ten phrases meant to spark children’s creativity and help them learn.
