Discovery Sundays at Florence Griswold Museum

Hands-on art activities invite visitors of all ages to explore creativity during Discovery Sundays at the Florence Griswold Museum, held Sundays from April through September, from 11 am to 4 pm.
Families and other visitors can drop in at the Hartman Education Center and choose from a variety of activities designed to encourage artistic exploration. Participants are provided with canvas, a palette, paint, brushes and a smock, along with guidance on color mixing and painting techniques.
When the weather is suitable, guests can take their creativity outdoors for plein air painting, following in the tradition of the artists who gathered at Miss Florenceās more than 100 years ago. The program offers a hands-on way to discover why the Griswold House became such an important place for American artists.
Discovery Sundays are family-friendly, and visitors of all ages are encouraged to participate. The program is included with museum admission, and no advance reservations are required.
Discovery Sundays take place at the Florence Griswold Museum, 96 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, Connecticut 06371, on Sundays through September from 11 am to 4 pm. Additional event information is available at Florence Griswold Museum Discovery Sundays.
