The Tony Award-winning musical The Wiz returns to stages across America with an all-new tour direct from Broadway, coming to Shubert Theatre for several performances in October. This groundbreaking reimagining of The Wizard of Oz combines soul, gospel, rock, 1970s funk, ballet, jazz, and modern pop while following Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world.
Performances are scheduled for October 1 and 2 at 7 pm, October 3 at 1 pm and 7 pm, and October 4 at 2 pm. The production runs approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, including intermission, and is recommended for ages 8 and older.
The show features a high-energy take on the beloved story, with a celebrated score and a vibrant blend of musical and dance styles. The production uses haze, smoke, and flashing lights.
