Semi (Clay) Workshop with Kasike Atunwa Jorge Baracutay Estevez at Mattatuck Museum

Celebrate Taíno culture through hands-on art during the Semi (Clay) Workshop at the Mattatuck Museum on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 3 to 4:30 pm.
Led by Kasike (Chief) Atunwa Jorge Baracutay Estevez of the Higuayagua Tribe, this family-friendly workshop introduces participants to Chicoide-style art and Taíno cultural traditions. A storyteller and historical researcher, Estevez will demonstrate traditional artistic techniques before guiding attendees in creating their own clay-inspired artwork.
This program is free and welcomes participants of all ages.
